A Cabin Cruiser at Holly Bay Marina caught fire Saturday after its engine backfired, sparking the blaze. All five of the passengers in the boat were picked up by the Laurel County Rescue Squad.

One of the engines on a Cabin Cruiser backfired and caught the boat on fire Saturday around 4 p.m. at Holly Bay Marina, Manager Randy Lawson said.

All five passengers were picked up by Laurel County Rescue Squad and the boat was towed to shore by Pulaski County Rescue Squad, who were already down at Laurel River Lake helping in the recovery efforts of a missing man, Clarence Holmes.

The boat was completely destroyed.
