Dance Alley’s Senior Hip Hop show off their dance and rhythm skills during their performance on Sunday afternoon in the “Once Upon A Wish” showcase at North Laurel High School.

The spectator side of North Laurel High School gymnasium was packed on Sunday afternoon as hundreds of youth showed their agility and athletic abilities.

“Once Upon A Wish” National Showcase 2018 brought out approximately three dozen teams of cheerleaders and dance teams to perform in an exhibition showing, with teams traveling from Laurel, Whitley and Clay counties to participate in the event. Also performing for the crowd were the Berea College and Eastern Kentucky University dance teams.

Local groups participating included the 2017 state cheering champions, North Laurel High School, who were joined by the North Laurel Middle School cheer and pom teams. Tumble Station, which sponsored the event, had eight teams performing during the afternoon’s showing. Also showcasing their talents were the BOSS All-Star Mini and All-Stars Junior Firestorm teams, Damar Gymnastics’ SKY Aristocats, Puma, Wildcats and Jaguar teams, four teams from Dance Alley and the East Bernstadt Lyrical teams.

Others teams performing included Clay County Middle School, Big Creek Elementary, Burning Springs Cheer team, Williamsburg Middle, Knox Central Middle, Hacker Kitty Cats and Studio C Jazz.
