BARBOURVILLE – Bluegrass Care Navigators is pleased to announce the selection of Donna Smith as the executive director of the organization’s Barbourville regional office.
In her role, Smith will oversee hospice care operations across Laurel, Clay, Knox, Whitley, Bell and Harlan counties, where Bluegrass Care Navigators provides hospice care to more than 600 patients each year. Smith previously served in the nursing supervisor role with Bluegrass Care Navigators, directing 20 local staff members providing home hospice care.
“Donna is a demonstrated leader who ensures quality care for our patients and families, while serving as a teacher, leader and support system to this team of clinicians,” said AVP of Eastern Kentucky Operations Monica Couch. “Donna embraces the mission of Bluegrass Care Navigators to deliver comforting care at the right time to the seriously ill.”

Smith is a native of Big Creek, Ky. and currently resides in Barbourville with her family.
Bluegrass Care Navigators provides hospice care in 32 counties across central, eastern and northern Kentucky. In addition, the agency supports those facing serious illness or chronic disease with private duty nursing, home primary care, transitional care, adult day health care, and palliative care services.
