The monthly meeting Tuesday of the London-Laurel County Planning and Zoning Commission was rescheduled for June 26 because the number of commissioners present did not constitute a quorum.

Of the 12 commissioners on the board, only six were present on June 9. Seven members were needed to make a quorum. Some of the commissioners tried to reach the absentees by cell phone, but no one answered. After about 20 minutes, the meeting was canceled.

The commissioners not present were David Altizer, Butch Cupp, Sallie Davidson, Susan Hodges, Berry Cupp and Donta Evans. Those present were Chairman Dane Gilpin, Bruce Yandell, Charlotte Anders, Patty Sherman, Sandy Slusher and Elbert Patton.

Chuck Felts with Kentucky Surveys said he would like the meeting to be as soon as possible because someone was wanting to purchase property in a subdivision plat that was to be amended.

A special called meeting was held June 11 at noon to amend the plat for Hampton Hills Subdivision.

The remaining items on the agenda, which includes a public hearing on a zoning change request by Carl and Jerald Robinson, will be conducted at the special-called meeting June 26 at 6 p.m.

The Robinsons want to have their property, which is located on the corner of Whitley and Owen streets, to be rezoned from R2 Residential to C2 Commercial.
