A late night walk ended with a Paducah man getting a ride he didn’t want — in the back of a police cruiser.
Deputy Tyler Morris was driving along Old Crab Orchard Road just after 1 a.m. Monday when he noticed a man staggering as he walked along the road. When deputies stopped beside the man, he tried to run but was stopped by deputies a short distance away.
An investigation revealed that 34-year-old Jason Hood of Paducah was under the influence and was a danger to himself and others as he walked along the roadway.
Hood was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Just prior to that, Deputy Mikey Ashurst arrested 54-year-old Freda Tincher of Kentucky Hollow Road in London, after she ran away when a deputy’s cruiser approached her on Old Crab Orchard Road, approximately five miles north of London.
An investigation revealed that Tincher was extremely intoxicated — even falling into a ditch. She was arrested on charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
