Two Laurel County students are competing in the 89th Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival.

Olivia Katherine Marie Mitchell, a junior at North Laurel High School, and Emily Kate Royster, a senior at South Laurel High School, are princess candidates in Friday's coronation.

Mitchell is the daughter of Holly and Greg Mitchell and Royster is the daughter of Al and Brenda Royster.

You can support your local princess candidates by visiting Pineville Thursday through Saturday, as they participate in the 89th Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival. The crowning of the 2019 Princess at the Princess Coronation is on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the (old) Pineville High School Gymnasium, located on Laurel Street, Pineville.

In addition to the Princess Coronation, the festival features quality crafts and concessions, a 5K run, and carnival. Thursday's Opening Night Concert featured award-winning Wynonna Judd. Saturday morning begins with the Gala Parade at 10 a.m. and the crowing of the 2019 KMLF Queen at the Laurel Cove Amphitheater at 2 p.m. More information on events can be viewed at http://kmlf.org.
