Coach Nate Valentine cuts down the net after Lexington Christian won its first-ever district title in 2017.

Nate Valentine, a native of London, will lead the North Laurel boys basketball program beginning with the 2019 season. Valentine will be North Laurel High School's eighth head coach of the boys basketball team in program history.

“I’m thrilled to be named to head basketball coach at North Laurel. There is a ton of positive momentum in the basketball program and school right now. I look forwarding to building on the winning culture that is already in place.” Valentine said.

Valentine has been the head boy's basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Lexington Christian Academy since 2014. His career record over his five seasons there was 110-51 and he had seven players sign to play college basketball with three of those being NCAA Division I schools.

“This has been an exhaustive search process to find the candidate whose model for success both compliments and enhances North Laurel High School’s vision for continued growth in student-athletes performance in the classroom and on the court,” said Jimmy Durham, athletic director. "We feel Coach Valentine brings this to the table. Coach Valentine, his wife Carrie, and family will be formally introduced on Tuesday, June 11 at 6:00 in the NLHS Auditorium. All parents, players, alumni, and North Laurel Community are invited to attend.”
