McKEE—Three North Laurel players scored in double figures as the Lady Jaguars downed Jackson County, 53-34, Monday night.

Caitie Jackson and Kayla Bargo both scored 12 points, while Makenzie Prichard added 11 and 11 rebounds, 10 of those on the defensive side.

North led 14-6 after one, and 31-13 at the half.

The Lady Jaguars defense, especially Ashley Woolum, kept pressure on Jackson County’s Kourtney Tyra all game long. Tyra finished with just eight points while turning the ball over five times.

The Lady Generals tried to fight their way back into the game in the third quarter, outscoring North 15-9 to cut the lead to 40-28. But the Lady Jaguars, shooting 43.2 percent for the game compared to 22.4 by Jackson County, prevailed, 53-34.

A. Bingham led Jackson Co. with 10 points.

North Laurel outrebounded the Lady Generals, 42-24.

The Lady Jaguars will now travel to take on Madison Central Friday night.
