BOWLING GREEN—North Laurel’s Caroline Moore and Kayla Horn both failed to qualify for the second round of the Leachman/KHSAA girls’ state golf tournament, held at Bowling Green Country Club.

Moore shot a 15 over 87, tying her for 62nd place after the first day of the event, while Horn finished with a 25 over 97, tying her for 100th. Moore just missed making the cut, which was 86.

The first day of the event was suspended at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday due to a lightning delay of three hours, with some golfers left on the course.

The boys’ tournament is set to start today in Bowling Green. South Laurel’s Elliott House is the only county golfer competing.
