SOMERSET—The North Laurel girls’ track team took first place last Thursday in the Southwestern All Comers Meet, held in Somerset.

The Jags scored 163.5 points to capture first place. The North boys took sixth with 52.5 points.

Meredith Johnson broke her existing school record of 13:34.4 in the 3200 with a time of 13:10.64. At the same time, Erica Gwinn eclipsed the old mark with a time of 13:19.89.

The Region 6AAA meet will be held at Southwestern Tuesday and Thursday, with competition starting at 6 p.m. both days.

Ashley Woolum placed first in the 100 hurdles in 17.03, with Sabrina Smith taking second (17.68) and Stephanie Passow, 11th. In the 100, Samantha Proffitt took second, while Andi Skiles placed fourth.

In the boys 100, Tommy Lawson took 13th and Kendall Nelson, 17th. In the girls 1600, Gwinn placed third, Johnson, fourth, and Kenna Vanourney, 11th. The boys 1600 saw Gregory Randolph take eight, Aaron Nelson, 20th and TJ Hinkle, 22nd.

Samantha Proffitt captured first in the girls 400 with a time of 1:07.65, while Whitney Marcum took 12th. Daniel Watson took 12th and Jeremy Hubbard, 13th, in the boys 400.

Woolum took first in the 300 hurdles in 50.88, with Passow placing fourth and Smith, fifth. Caleb Mosley took first in the boys 300 hurdles in 44.89.

Kenna Vanourney took seventh in the girls 800 in 2:58.14, while Gregory Randolph took ninth and TJ Hinkle, 17th in the boys event.

Proffitt took second in the girls 200 in 27.78, with Tara Egner 12th and Cassidy Cornett, 14th. Tommy Lawson placed seventh in the boys 200, with Kendall Nelson 13th, Ben Robinson, 20th, Keith Parrott, 22nd and Wade Lewis, 23rd.

Meredith Johnson took second in the girls 3200 in 13:10.64, with Erica Gwinn taking third. In the boys 3200, Gregory Randolph placed third in 12:03.45.

Andi Skiles took first in the girls shot put at 27-10.50, while Ashlie Camp took third, Katie Hartney, fourth and Tosha Wallen, sixth. Jared Hartney took third and Jonathan Rednour, 20th, in the boys shot.

Katie Hartney took third in the girls discus, with Ashlie Camp fourth and Tosha Wallen, 11th. Jared Hartney took eighth in Jonathan Rednour, 17th, in the boys discus.

Ashley Woolum took first in both the girls long jump (15-08.50) and triple jump (33-00.00). Stephanie Passow took 11th in the girls long jump, while in the girls triple jump, Melanie Hester took eighth and Katie Hartney, 11th. Caleb Mosley took 12th in the boys long jump, while Daniel Watson placed fifth in the boys triple jump.

Hester placed sixth in the girls high jump, while Mosley took eighth in the boys event. In the girls pole vault, Samantha Proffitt place second and Melanie Hester, third. Tommy Lawson placed third in the boys pole vault, while Daniel Watson took fourth and Jeremy Hubbard, seventh.

The boys 4x200 relay team placed seventh, as did the boys 4x100. The girls 4x400 team placed third, and the boys 4x400 took third.
