After winning seven golf matches in a row, North Laurel fell Tuesday night to Middlesboro in a match played at Wasioto Winds, 172-176.

John Evans posted a career low 46, while Zach Storm and Cody Meier both shot 43s. Barrett James had a 54 and Hunter North, 46.

On Monday, North Laurel beat Whitley Co. and Williamsburg at Crooked Creek. North shot a 188, Whitley, 192, and Williamsburg, 203. Storm had a 42, Meier, 49, Kyle Jeffers, 44, James, 52, and North, 60.

Last Thursday, North traveled to Wasioto Winds and defeated Williamsburg in a conference match, 173-186, which makes North 2-1 in conference. Storm received medalist honors with a 38. Meier had a 44, Jeffers, 43, James, 48, and North, 56.

“Monday, we have a home match at Crooked Creek with Whitley Co., South Laurel and Jackson Co.,” coach Scott George said. “Then Tuesday, we travel to Tri-County Country Club to play the defending regional champs, Corbin, So we have our work cut out for us next week. Then on Aug. 29, we are hosting our North Laurel Jaguars Invitational at Crooked Creek with 14 teams participating.”
