SOMERSET—The North Laurel girls won their second straight meet, taking first in the Southwestern All-Comers meet on May 3.

The girls finished with 148 points to beat out eight other schools. The boys finished six out of nine schools with 49.5 points.

Ashley Woolum broke her own school record in the long jump (16-1) and the triple jump (34-2.5). She also took first in the 300 hurdles (51.30) and the high jump (4-6).

Stephanie Passow placed 10th in the 100 hurdles, while Samantha Proffitt took third in the 100 with a time of 13.67. Jenny Tillery placed 10th and Whitney Marcum, 18th. In the 1600, Erica Gwinn took fourth and Meredith Johnson, fifth. Proffitt took first in the 400 in 1:04.40, with Tara Egner taking 14th and Whitney Marcum, 15th. Stephanie Passow took eighth in the 300 hurdles.

In the 800, Gwinn placed sixth, Johnson, eighth, Kenna Vanourney 16th and Whitley Marcum, 17th. Samantha Proffitt took third in the 200, with Tara Egner placing 11th, Cheyenne Nicely, 18th and Kimberly Eversole, 21st. In the 3200, Gwinn took third and Johnson, fourth.

Katie Hartney placed first in the shot put with a distance of 28-5, and Ashlie Camp finished second, Tosha Wallen, fourth, and Kendra Eversole, sixth. In the discus, Camp took second, Hartney, third, Wallen 10th and Eversole, 14th. Sierra Egner placed 10th in the long jump, and Melanie Hester took seventh in the triple jump. Jenny Tillery placed ninth in the high jump, while in the pole vault, Hester took second and Samantha Proffitt, third.

In boys action, Kendall Nelson took sixth in the 100, with Tommy Lawson placing 12th. In the 1600, Gregory Randolph took fifth, Aaron Nelson, 18th and TJ Hinkle, 21st. Nelson took 16th and Keith Parrott, 19th, in the 400. Caleb Mosley placed second in the 300 hurdles.

In the 800, Gregory Randolph placed sixth and TJ Hinkle, 21st. Tommy Lawson took sixth in the 200, with Kendall Nelson finishing eighth, Ben Robinson, 19th, and Jonathon Rednour, 22nd. In the 3200, Randolph finished in seventh place.

Jared Hartney took sixth in the shot put, with John Davidson placing 19th and Jonathon Rednour, 22nd. Hartney took seventh in the discus, while Davidson placed 19th and Rednour, 20th. In the long jump, Daniel Watson finished in 13th place. Caleb Mosley took eighth in the triple jump and Daniel Watson, 10th. Mosley finished ninth in the high jump, and in the pole vault, Lawson placed fourth, Watson, fifth, and Jeremy Hubbard, seventh.

The 4x800 girls relay team finished in fourth place, the 4x2000, ninth place, the 4x100, fifth place, and the 4x400, fifth place. The 4x200 boys team placed seventh and the 4x400 took fifth.
